TFC, Tekcham down BOLERO FC 3-1 to lift championship title of VSO Trophy

Suresh struck twice and Bipin gave the much need equaliser for TFC, Tekcham after BOLERO FC surged ahead with an early lead 10 minutes into the game to emerge champions of 5th VSO Trophy organised by Khongjom Circle Veteran Sports Organisation with 3-1 win over BOLERO FC, Singjamei Bamon Leikai in the final at Tekcham High School Ground yesterday.
BOLERO FC started on a positive note taking the early lead in the 10th minute through Sobha but it turns out to be like disturbing a bee nest as TFC churned out three consecutive goals in the latter part of the game powered by Bipin who have sent in the equalizer in the 25th minute of the first half followed by two successive goals by Suresh in the 47th and 50th minute after changing the ends to take home the championship title with a comprehensive 3-1 win.
The final match was graced by L Bondash Singh, Retd Associate Professor YK College, Wangjing; Dr Y Nandabir Singh, Professor, RIMS (PMR) Imphal; Soibam Tampha Singh, Selection Grade, Lecturer Govt Polytechnic, Takyel; Dr S Jibonkumar Singh, Professor Dept of Anthropology, Manipur University and Th Komol Singh, AE PWD, GoM as dignitaries and distributed the prizes to the winners, runners-up, third placed team and other exceptional performers in the competition.
The winner team TFC, Tekcham received a cash prize of Rs 70,000 while runners-up team pocketed in a sum of Rs 40,000 and the third placed team Shamphabi FC got rich by Rs 10,000.The best goal keeper title went to Suraj Singh of BOLERO FC and received a cash prize of Rs 3,000 while Pritam Singh of Tangkhul FC emerged the top scorer and got a cash incentive of Rs 3,000 .
Moving on, Borish Singh of TFC, Tekcham was adjudged the best player of the tournament so as the best mid-fielder title to Suresh Singh of the same team.
Both were awarded cash prize of Rs 3,000 each.
Sandeep Singh registered his name as best defender in the tournament playing for BOLERO FC and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 3,000 while FARISH FC, Keirang etched its name as the best discipline team and was honoured with Rs 4,000 .
