Challenge Cup Veteran Football: TRVSA, VBFAM record wins

Imphal, May 06 2015 : TRVSA Malom and VBFAM registered wins in the league matches of the 17th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament being played under the supervision of Manipur Veteran Football Association (MVFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung on Wednesday.

TRVSA continue their wining streak when they overcame stiff challenge of IEVFA by a solitary goal.

TRVSA took the field with high confidence as they won their previous league encounter.

However, they were forced to take a reality check when IEVFA match them raid for raid.

The heavy exchanges during the first half could not produce any goal as defenders of both the teams did not yield any scoring spaces and the first half ended in 0-0 .

The first half phenomenon continues in the early part of the second half.

However, K Boba lapped on a defensive error and stunned IEVFA when his strike found the net in the 61st min of the match.

Boba's goal turned out to the deciding factor in the match as both the teams could not added further goals.

Boba's goal helps TRVSA to walk away with the match.

Later, VBFAM scored two first half goals to win the match against MUSA.

VBFAM took the early lead through N Rojesh in the 3rd min of the match.

K Dollungpu Kabui extend the lead in 20th min.

MUSA's effort to find the equalizers to come back into the match were thwart by VBFAM defenders and protected the lead till the end of the match.

The two first half goal enable VBFAM to march away with the match with 2-0 score line.
