Imphal, March 05 2014 : In an evenly contested match, DSA Thoubal played a 2 all goal draw against DSA Kakching at the 17th Sub-Jurnior Boys' Inter-District Football Tournament today.

Evenly matched man to man and in team work, the match was a keenly contested one with neither side giving the other an inch.

DSA Thoubal went ahead in the 24th minute of the match, when the ball went to an unmarked Sumanta.

Displaying great ball control, Sumanta had little difficulty in slotting home the ball.

Stung by the reverse, DSA Kakching went all out to find the equaliser.

Displaying great team work, the DSA players combined well to breach the Thoubal defence line where a lurking Md Taslim Khan found himself well placed to take a shot and disturb the net, to bring his team back into the match in the 40th minute.

Buoyed by the equaliser, the Kakching team kept up the pace of the game and after an attack down the flank, Taslim Khan managed to take the ball dangerously close to the goal mouth and unleashed a power packed shot that beat the custodian of the Thoubal team hands down.

Not demoralised by the one goal deficit, the Thoubal team came back strongly into the match and just two minutes after the earlier goal, managed to score, through L Kishan.

In the second match of the day, DSA Bishnupur brushed aside DSA Tamenglong by a margin of 3 goals to one.

N Maheshchandra put his team ahead in the 15th minute followed by RK Srnivas in the 23rd minute and N Yaiphaba in the 59th minute to race to a three goal lead.

The consolation goal form Tamenglong came from L Remmei in the 73rd minute of the match.
