UPAA, KLASA enter second round of 56th CC Meet

Imphal, January 04 2013 : UPAA, Kyamgei and KLASA, Keinou have entered into the second round of the ongoing 56th Sir Churachand Singh KCSE, CBE Memorial Football Tournament (CC Meet), 2012 organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.

UPAA, Kyamgei beat JSYC, Sadar Hills 2-1 in the first match and entered second round.

Later, KLASA, Keinou won the second match after defeating MYC, Moreh and entered second round.

The first match was a fairly competitive match between the two teams.

A Pradipkumar of UPAA drew the first blood in the 27th minute of the match.

The score was soon equalised in the 29th minute of the match by Thangtinlen of JSYC.

With same scores, both teams played the match to get a berth in the second round.

However it was a tough task for both of them to score goal against one another.

UPAA was lucky enough to enter into the second round when JSYC committed a blunder in last minutes of the match which cost them the chance for a berth in the second round.

The blunder which cost them their chance was an own goal by Mangkhohao in the 86th minute of the match.

Short of one goal, they tried their best racing against time but could not equalise the score and lost the match.

In the second match, a dominant KLASA thrashed MYC, Moreh 12-1 and won the berth in the second round.

Ch Rishi of KLASA scored four goals in the 24th, 26th, 44th and 47th minutes of the match.

L Sunder scored three goals in the 65th, 83rd and 90+2 minutes.

K Nepolean also scored three goals in the 58th, 72nd and 81st minutes.

L Jiten and S Homeshor also scored one goal each in the 39th and 86th minutes of the match respectively.

On the other hand the lone goal of MYC, Moreh was scored in the 69th minute of the match by Bempu.
