CC Meet: TRUGPU blank State League champion NEROCA 2-0

Tiddim Road Unique Gammy Players' Union (TRUGPU) Nambol stormed into the quater finals today after defeating its opponent North Eastern Re-Organising and Cultural Association (NEROCA), Sangakpham by a margin of 2 goals to nil in the first pre-quarterfinals of the ongoing 58th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament, organised by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) at Mapal Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The match which was attended by a large number of spectators witnessed TRUGPU dominating the match with better ball possesion from the first whistle.
The opening goal for TRUGPU came in the 22nd minute from Kh Ratan after NEROCA goalkeeper M Deban failed to palm away a strike from TRUGPU's Kh Jackey.

With one goal down, the NEROCA players did not lose hope and fought hard to come back into the match however the TRUGPU custodian Y Suraj dished out a brilliant performance thwarting all the strikes made by NEROCA.
After the breather, both sides continued attacking, but the NEROCA strikers failed to find the target and L Sanatomba of TRUGPU slammed in the second goal in the 73rd minute through a fine cross from Th Chingkheikhomba to register a convincing 2-0 win against a hapless NEROCA.
Tomorrow, ZFC will clash with USA at 1.30 pm.
