Chandel, February 02 2016: The 10th Sirti Football Tournament 2016, an annual tournament of the Monsang tribe which commenced from January 11, concluded today at Liwa Sarei village in Chandel district.

Chandel's ADC members Th Hopeson, Sh Manglem and KT Hari graced the closing function as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.

In the men's open final today, Liwa Changning blanked ten men Monsang Pantha by a margin of 2 goals to nil.

The winning goals of Liwa Changing were scored by Kh Borningkham (Jersey No 8) and Kh Samuel (Jersey No 6) in the 6th and 88th minute respectively.

Monsang Pantha's Henry (Jersey No 4) was sent off for unsporting behaviour during the match.

Men's champions Liwa Changning were awarded a cash prize of Rs 30,000 while the runners up team Monsang Pantha received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 .

In the women's football final, Monsang Pantha claimed an easy 2-0 win against Changhne.

Sh Shantina (Jersey No 7) and W Shangnila (Jersey No 9) of Monsang Pantha scored the winning goals in the 29th and 36th minute respectively.

Champions Monsang Pantha were awarded a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15,000 while Changhne received a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .

In the men's veteran football final, Liwa Changning edged out Liwa Sarei by a margin of 2 goals to one via penalty shoot-out after both teams failed to break the deadlock in normal time.

During the penalty shoot-out, W Elvis and NG Thamsr found the targets for Liwa Changning while the solitary goal of Liwa Sarei was scored by W Gramshing.

Veteran team Liwa Changning went home with a cash prize of Rs 15,000 with the champions trophy while Liwa Sarei walked away with the runners up title and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .
