State Age Group Athletic C'ship : KNSAA extend lead with 19 gold medals

Imphal, October 01 2019:
KNSAA athletes did well to collect 19 gold, 14 silver and 10 bronze medals till day 2 to extend their lead at the ongoing 39th State Age Group Athletic Championship 2019 organised by Athletic Association of Manipur at Main Stadium Khuman Lampak.
HAU are second with 16 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals while PRSC are following closely with 14 gold, 15 silver and 6 bronze medals.

Day 2 Events
Long Jump
In the long jump event for U-14 girls, RAU's A Anjita made the best leap of 4.06 m to win the gold medal while HAU's A Kalpana Devi (3.72 m) and WSC's S Anuska (3.62 m) finished second and third.
S Nganthoi of SAIRC won the U-16 girls title while Shiksha Solanki won the U-18 girls gold for PRSC with the best effort of 4.37 m.M Bindya of FUC (4.01 m) and L Anjali of HAU (3.83 m) bagged the silver and the bronze medals respectively in the U-18 girls event.
Women's long jump title went to A Surbala of MPSC who made the best leap of 4.18 m while Shameeksha of PRSC (4.20 m), Th Andhabati Devi of HAU (3.92 m) and Akansha K of RAU (3.60 m) finished first, second and third in the U-20 girls' competition.
Md Aslam Khan of LSA bagged the U-14 boys gold with the best jump of 6.03 m while N Umakanta of KNSAA (5.89 m) and Th Kabi of HAU (5.40 m) claimed the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
S Vickyson of KNSAA bagged a gold medal in the U-16 boys long jump event with a 5.60 m effort while H Janit of PRSC (5.39 m) and Martin of MSC (5.35 m) bagged the silver and bronze medals respectively.
L Mangansana of SAI-RC won the U-18 boys gold with 6.35 m leap while L Shyamkeshor of HYC (5.74 m) and K Surchandra of RAU (5.72 m) finished second and third.
PRSC's Sharif bagged the U-20 boys gold by leaping 5.86 m while K Borish of Ideal Club (5.85 m) and Md Taj Khan of LSA (5.51 m) claimed the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
MPSC's K Romeshchandra clinched the men's title with a 6.80 m leap today while KNSAA Letjakai (6.06 m) and Th Roshan of MPSC (5.34 m ) settled for the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
Hammer Throw
O Romesh of KNSAA bagged the hammer throw title for U-16 boys with 35 m throw while L Robichandra of HAU managed the U-18 boys title with 22.67 m throw.
M Santosh of KNSAA emerged on top in the U-20 boys competition with the best throw of 20.25 m beating HAU's Kh Robinson (17.57 m) and M Bipin Meitei (13.66 m).
S Maipaksana of MPSC fetched the men's hammer throw title with a best throw of 35.10 m while S Sanajaoba of KNSAA (28 m) and A Uttam of HAU (16.45 m) won the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
In the U-16 girls hammer throw competition, HAU's A Maher bagged the gold with a 8.15 m throw while Th Sanamacha of the same unit bagged the U-18 girls title with a 11.93 m throw.
S Laxmi Chanu of MPSC claimed the women's title with the best throw of 33.02 m which was more than enough to beat N Ichantombi of KNSAA (27.50 m) and M Arundhati (26.32 m) .
400 m race
HAU's RK Dayananda (52.83 s) and Kh Anil (59.02 s) won the gold and the silver medal in the 400 m race for U-16 boys while Manju Hussain of SROY won the bronze medal (1:00.13).Zia Ul Haque of SAI-RC won the U-18 boys title with a time of 55.47 seconds while Ch Chingkhei won the U-20 gold for FUC with a best time of 51.43 seconds.
M Alken of KNSAA clocked 49.20 seconds to win the 400 m race for Men's while PRSC's Konungjao (50.75 s) and Kumar Yadav (52.02 s) bagged the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
H Bhumeshwory of SAIRC won the 400 m title for U-16 girls with a time of 1 minutes 01.23 seconds while L Ashakiran of HAU bagged the U-18 girls title completing the course in 1:16.60.PRSC's Arya Prasanam won the U-20 girls title with 59.25 seconds run while Shameekhsa Upadhyay of the same unit bagged the silver with a time of 1:10.35.Akansha of PRSC, on the other hand won the 400 m race for women's by taking 1:19.25 .
Triathlon
Ebeyaima Chanu of HAU collected 1154 points to win the triathlon title for U-16 girls while Y Ashangbi of JYC (954 points) and Ng Deviya of HAU (780 points) claimed the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
Md Badouddin of SORA clinched the U-16 boys gold with a 1588 points finish and HAU's N Dhamendra and Th Sadananda won the silver and the bronze medals respectively.
Steeplechase
HAU's L Anjali Devi and Th Andhabati won the U-18 and U-20 girls 2000 m steeplechase titles with best time of 10:03.93 and 10:23.37 respectively while Women's 3000 m steeplechase title went to KNSAA's N Ranjana who completed the course in 15 minutes 31.57 seconds.
