Sub-Junior Girls National Football C’ship : Bihar, Kerala complete quarter final line up

Bihar beat Chhattisgarh by a 3-1 margin while Kerala thrashed Tamil Nadu 5-1 to cruise into the quarter finals of the ongoing Sub-Junior Girls National Football Championship 2017 hosted by All Manipur Football Association (AMFA) under the supervision of All India Football Federation at Artificial turf ground, Khuman Lampak today .
Manipur (Group-A), Chandigarh (Group-B), Delhi (Group-C), Orissa (Group-D), West Bengal (Group-E), Bihar (Group-F), Maharashtra (Group-G) and second best team Kerala (Group-G) will now face their respective opponents in the quarter finals .
In the group-F league match played today, Bihar and Chhatisgarh displayed a spirited performance as the winner would directly enter the quarter finals .
Even a draw between the duo would have enabled both teams to reach the quarter finals (Chattisgarh as second best team) .
Both teams started the game well, trying really hard to open up.
It was in the 40th minute that Bihar took the lead when Kajal Kumari found the opener to finish the first half 1-0 .
After the breather, both teams carried on their offensive raids and Priyanka Futun of Chhattisgarh brought the equaliser in the 67th minute to increase their chances for the quarter final berth.
The deadlock stayed for a while but Palavi Kumari of Bihar shattered Chhattisgarh’s quarter final dream into pieces as she struck home the ball in the 80th minute and regained the lead .
The additional period further worsened Chhattisgarh’s condition when Jyotikumari, Bihar’s captain nestled home the ball through a penalty to hand her team a 3-1victory and sail into the quarter final with ease .
In the last group- G league match, substitue Nanda starred as she hit a hat-trick to hand Kerala an emphatic 5-1 against Tamil Nadu .
Kerala required to win the game by a difference of three goals or more and luckily Ariyabi and Sharin helped fulfill the eligibility criteria to secure the quarter final berth .
Ariyabi opened the account for Kerala early in the 5th minute.
The lead was further extended by Sharin in the 11th minute to make the scoreline 2-0.They sustained the pressure and substitute Nanda struck her first goal in the 32nd minute to wrap the first half 3-0 in favour of Kerala .
Nanda continued her good game as she struck two more goals in the 55th and 58th minute to complete her hat-trick.
Lacklustre Tamil Nadu pulled back one goal through Divyaka in the 76th minute to concede the match 1-5 to Kerala.
