State Subroto Mukerjee football tournament ; Hermon English School win lung opener

The Inter School Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament 2015 for Manipur for Under-14 & 17 boys and Under-17 girls, organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS), Khuman Lampak began today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
The opening ceremony of the tournament was graced by DYAS Director N Ashok Kumar and Manipur Olympic Association vice president Dr GA Ibopishak Sharma as chief guest and president respectively.
In the U-17 boys' group Hermon English School, Churachandpur, Afros-A HSS, Imphal East and Little Master English HSS, Imphal West registered victories in their opening matches.

In the first match of the day of Group-C league, Hermon English School, Churachandpur edged out Gandha Memorial School, Bishnupur by a margin of one goal to nil.
Goulien Hangsing banged in the all important goal in the 51st minute.
Kh Sudhir of Gandha Memorial School was booked during the match.
Oriental Academy, Chandel lost 1-2 against Afros-A HSS, Imphal East in the Group-B league match.
After both sides failed to break the deadlock in the first half, Kh Tondonba slammed home the opening goal in the 51st minute followed by a goal from Yashir in the 59th minute for Afros-A.On the other hand, Oriental Academy witnessed their lone goal through Joshua in the 53rd minute.
In the Group-A league match, Little Master English HSS humiliated Oklong Government HS, Senapati by a margin of 6 goals to nil.
The winning goals were scored by N Roshan in the 21st, 23rd and 35th minute, L Hemba (19th), S Shibaskar (37th) and T Ram (39th).Jacky of Oklong Govt HS was yellow carded during the match.
In the U-14 boys' group, Poirou Khongjin HS, Imphal East was given a walkover after their opponent Emmanuel English School, Chandel failed to produce their squad as some of their players failed in their age verification medical test.
In the Group-B league match, Nilamani English School, Imphal West thrashed Comerstone Christian Academy, Senapati by a margin of 6 goals to one.
A double from H Anand (42nd, 46th) and a strike each from L Premjit (22nd), L David (28th), Th Rojen (30th) and Reamei Langsengam (43rd) gave 6 goals to Nilamani English School while Loverson slotted in the only goal of Comerstone Christian Academy.
Pinjabati HS, Bishnupur registered a convincing 5-0 victory against Don Bosco, Tamenglong in the Group-C league.
The winning goals were scored by M Givson (13th, 35th, 60th), K Anjelo (40th) and P Premchandra in the 42nd minute.
