3rd MCA Elite Tournament THAU defeat Model Club by 12 runs

Imphal, April 30 2016 : THAU, Thangmeiband defeated Model Club, Chingamkha by 12 runs in the ongoing 3rd MCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Memorial Elite Tournament, organised by the Manipur Cricket Association (MCA), today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, Luwangshangbam.

Winning the toss, THAU opted to bat first and produced 145 runs (all out) in 43.3 overs.

Senate and Gelson were the only main scorers of THAU as Senate scored 44 runs off 49 balls while Gelson hit 40 off 78 balls.

For Model Club, Tejkumar pulled two wickets while Bishworjit, Binaykumar, Iboyaima and Nashir grabbed a wicket each.

Batting second, Model Club went down chasing target for 134 runs (all out) in 44.3 overs.

Nashir (29), Dhamendra (23) and Viking (13) were the notable scorers of Model Club.

A fine bowling spell from Langlonyamba saw him taking three wickets while Kabir, Pritam and Ravikanta claimed two wickets each.

The man of the match title went to Langlonyamba of THAU.

Tomorrow, YWC, Patsoi-1 will clash with ESU, Wangkhei.
