Imphal, January 31 2017: N Olen did the star turn for HISU, Thoubal as they outplayed MAHUR, Haflong 6-1 in the quarter final of the 6th Ksh Nonigopal Memorial invitation football tournament 2016-17 today at Jiribam Govt Hr Sec school playground.

Right from the first whistle, HISU were in command of the match.

It was N Olen who handed an early lead to the Thoubal outfits as he slammed home his opener in the 5th minute.

Olen struck his second goal in the 26th minute.

Even as the Haflong colts made frenetic attempts to find the equalisers, they could not breach the defence line of their rivals which was well fortified.

And the first half ended with the Thoubal side taking a comfortable 2-0 lead.

The first quarter of the second half witnessed electrifying performances from both sides.

Although HISU forwards tried carrying forward the momentum of the first half, MAHUR defenders put up a strong fight denying any penetration into their citadel.

However, the Assam outfits could not put a guard on their bastion for long as Ngampu of HISU breached their defence in the 64th minute to make it 3-0 .

N Olen asserted his class and netted his third and fourth goal respectively in the 69th and 76th minute.

Donald at the same time managed to pull one back for MAHUR in the 79th minute.

The Assam players pushed hard to find some more goals.

However, HISU defenders warded off any danger posed by their rival attackers.

Ngampu scored his second goal in the 87th minute to eventually seal the deal for HISU.
