Imphal, December 31 2013 :
CRAU, Khanam Leirak rode on a splendid display by Ibomcha, both with the ball and bat, to down YWC Patsoi by five wickets in the 1st State Level U-15 Keisham Birla Memorial Cricket Tournament at YWC ground, Patsoi today.
Winning the toss, YWC Patsoi opted to bat first in the 35 overs match and despite a commendable 49 runs off 58 balls by Bishal and 15 runs off 20 balls by Hemjit were eventually bundled out for 146 in 24.5 overs, with Ibomcha spearheading the attack and scalping 3 wickets.
Faced with the task of overcoming 146 runs in 35 overs, CRAU started cautiously but lost wickets at regular intervals.
With 5 wickets down, it was left to Ibomcha to literally take the match away from YWC by unleashing a flurry of shots on either side of the wicket, scoring 64 runs off 79 balls.
Dominating the ball, Ibomcha managed to find the gaps with ease to race to his half century, leaving the attack of YWC in disarray.
For his stellar performance of 3 wickets in 5 overs and 64 runs off 79 balls, Ibomcha walked away with the man of the match honour.
Poor fielding only helped the cause of CRAU.
On January 2, YWC Patsoi will take on Force Kshetrigaon.
