Singjamei Apunba Meira Paibi Lup organised a one-day discussion session on ILPS with Editor's Guild, Manipur president A Mobi as the moderator at Singjamei community hall today.
Naharolgi Thoudang Editor Khoirom Loyalakpa, Advocate Sukham Premjit, Manipur University Associate Professor Chinglen Maisnam, IPSA vice-president Joy, IPSA public relation secretary Athouba and representatives from JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood spoke at the discussion session.
Later, the discussion session took 10 recommendations that included all the five points raised by JCILPS and none of these points must be omitted while drafting the new ILPS Bill, the draft Bill must be made public before it is introduced in the State Assembly, essential services like medical, water supply, electricity, religious ceremonies or functions and media must be relaxed in every bandh or general strike, educational institutes must be opened at the earliest, all the arrested students must be released immediately, curfew between 8 pm and 5 am must be removed, police personnel responsible for Sapam Robinhood's death must be put under suspension, the report of the Judicial inquiry which will probe Robinhood's death must be submitted within a stipulated time, a new Bill to safeguard the indigenous people must be passed within August 15 and to support all the agitations initiated by JCILPS and JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Sapam Robinhood.
