Boy saves uncle from flames at Takhel Mayai Leikai

Imphal, March 29 2012:
A 12-year-old boy saved his uncle from the flames of a deadly fire recently.
The incident occurred at around 11.30 pm at Takhel Mayai Leikai on March 22 last.
Class-VII student, Arambam Sanajaoba Meitei and his uncle Jai were sleeping in their house while other family members had been to a nearby local ground to watch shumang leela (courtyard play).
The boy awakened his uncle from being charred to death.
As most of the people of the locality were at the local ground to watch shumang leela, their house was reduced to cinders in the fire.
Their family is currently taking shelter at the building of a local youth club.
Sanajaoba, a student of Dasumati Junior High School is a Taekwondo player and the second son of Ingocha and Chaobi.
The boy is currently taking part in a Taekwondo coaching camp organised by State Youth Affairs and Sports Department.
