Imphal, January 29 2015 : The State Government has decided to appoint a retired IFS to the post of the State's Chief Information Commissioner which has been lying vacant for the past many years.

The Government held a meeting yesterday and adopted a decision towards this end, informed a source.

The meeting presided by Chief Minister O Ibobi was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam and a number of senior Ministers.

The meeting decided to appoint a retired IFS officer as the State's Chief Information Commissioner.

The said officer has applied for the same post.

Former LDA Project Director Th Ibobi is one of those people who have applied for the post of Chief Information Commissioner.
