Medical screening camp held

Village Tuijang, in South Chandel District is located in one of the remotest area in Manipur.
The area is devoid of any health infrastructure or medical facilities.
With the change in weather, the villagers especially school children started falling sick due to weather related and water borne diseases.
The village elders and school principal brought this to the notice of the battalion and requested for medical assistance.
32 Assam Rifles of 28 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a medical screening camp for the school children & villagers at Tuijang on 21 Jul 2014 .
During this health checkup camp, a total of 89 people from Tuijang, Tolbung, Hengshi, Hollengjang and Pamchal villages underwent medical checkup and necessary medicines were provided at the medical camp.
In addition, a lecture on 'Health and Hygiene' and 'Water Borne Diseases' was also conducted by the medical officer of the Assam Rifles.
Local villagers expressed their gratitude towards Assam Rifles and lauded the efforts put in by the Assam Rifles, according to a statement issued by PRO IGAR (S) .
