Imphal, May 21 2015 : Liquor seized
Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA) during its anti-drug campaign seized around hundred litres of liquor from Chingningkhul yesterday morning.

The drive was conducted by CADA in collaboration with Bishnupur Awang Mamang Leikai Meira Paibi Lup.

The seized liquor was later destroyed in front of Sports & Library Organisation Club office.

Foundation Day held
Kangla Khunthokyai Apun Luplen (KAKHAL) celebrated its 2nd Foundation Day at Manipur Press Club today.

MP Dr T Meinya graced the occasion as the chief guest.

MPCC general secretary Bidyapati Senjam, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) president Wangkhemcha Shamjai, Irengbam Lukhoi, Sukham Marutombi, Ibohal Elangba and Soubam Ellikhomba were also present at the occasion.

Cataract detection camp
National Programme for Control of Blindness (NPCB), Thoubal under the National Program for Control of Blindness organised a cataract detection camp at Januram community hall, Kakching Sumak Leikai.

During the camp, a team of NPCB, Thoubal and Shija Hospital, Langol conducted a free cataract screening for locals of Kakching area.

BUCA branch
The third branch of Bishnupur Urban Cooperative Bank (BUCA) was opened today at Moirang bazar.

The inauguration function was attended by Maisnam Kourouhanba, CEO of BUCA and Loutongbam Ibomcha Meitei, president of BUCA as the chief guest and president respectively.

CRPF extends assistance
109 Bn CRPF today provided 7 water tanks, 6 water filters, 75 meters PVC pipe and 7 solar LED lamps to the Old Age Home for Senior Citizens, Mongsangei Makha Leikai.

The items were handed by Commandant PK Mehra, 109 Bn, CRPF to the Home's authority, informed a statement.

Gunfight
A gunfight broke out between cadres of ZUF and NSCN-IM at Tousang village under Nungba police station at around 6.30 am today.

However, no casualty has been reported till the time of filing this report.

It is said that the gunfight lasted for just a few minutes.
