Mera Wafukpa ritual conducted

The Mera Wafukpa ritual, which marks the culmination of month-long Mera Wayungba, was conducted at Kangla on Friday, which is the full moon day as per the Meetei lunar month Hiyangei.
According to Sana Konung publicity secretary Laishram Poireiton, Mera Wayungba is an important ritual and tradition of the state, which signifies the age old relationship between the hills and plain dwellers.
Titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba erected the Mera Wa and lit up Mera Thaomei on the full moon day of Mera.
Scholars and officials of Sana Konung participated in the ritual during which prayers were offered for welfare, prosperity and communal harmony.
