Imphal, October 18 2021: The NSCN-IM on Monday clarified that Romeo Bungdon Anal who was reportedly arrested on Sunday as an NSCN-IM cadre, is not its member.

An NSCN-IM release said the report which emanated from Manipur state police is unfounded and far from the factual truth.

"Romeo is a not a member of NSCN in any capacity.

To our knowledge, he is the working president of All Tribal Union, Manipur (ATUM) .

Anything charged against him beyond his actual identity would be false allegations," it said.
