Imphal, September 18 2015 : After a 10-member committee was set up to effectively implement the Water and Sanitation Scheme under the aegis of PHED, two persons have allegedly tried to hijack the scheme in Huishu village in Ukhrul district, said a press release issued by secretary of the village authority, VB Maringthuk.

Although, the village authority had served a notice to the duo on September 1 last to come at the village to resolve the issue, they had failed to turn up, VB Maringthuk said.

He added that he had given recommendation without the consent of the village assembly as he was unaware that Community Phase and Scheme Project must be taken up.

As such, he declared the recommendation null and void.

He added that SDO/BDO Chingai had refused to resolve the matter although the village secretary had visited the office several times.

As such, the chairman, secretary and co-ordinators of Water and Sanitation Scheme would resolve the matter.
