Imphal, September 18 2013: The Bakuwa Baptist Church (INBCA) in Tamenglong District, Manipur will celebrate Christian Centenary in December 2014 in the name of Namrijinang (Maipak).

A press release of the Church said, Namrijinang was born at Bakuwa (Khuakiu) Village in 1874.He embraced Christianity in the year 1914 and was the first Christian among the Inpui Naga Tribe.

He was baptized on December 6, 1915 by Missionary UM Fox.

K Pantigongpou, grandson of Namrijinang, now settled at Tamenglong H/Q and the Bakuwa Baptist Church together have declared to hold the Christian Centenary Celebration at Bakuwa Church from December 5-7, 2014, the release added.
