Imphal, December 13 2019: Sehlon Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed stationery items to the students of Channa Chapang Bible School today.

The stationery items were provided to 96 students between the age group 8 to 13 years who had assembled at Sehlon Christian Church as part of 8th Channa Chapang Bible School wherein preaching of Bible classes are being conducted for one week, said a statement of the PRO IGAR (South) .

"Sehlon Battalion provided assistance to these school going children with free stationery in terms including books, note books, pencils, rubbers etc as part of our endeavour to bring up the standard of education by providing various facilities out of the limited resources which the battalion can garner for the students.

This is a drive by the unit towards imparting primary education in this socially backward and remote area.

The effort of the Assam Rifles was highly appreciated by the students and their parents and they expressed their heartfelt gratitude," said AR.
