MUA opposes border fencing

Imphal, December 12 2024:
Maring Uparap Assembly (MUA), the apex body of Maring community, has raised strong objection to the Tengnoupal DC's notification dated December 2, regarding the erection of fencing and road construction along Indo-Myanmar Border (IMB) from BP-81 to BP-85 (Package-IV) in the eastern Maring area, Tengnoupal district.
In a release, MUA Information Cell urged department concerned to halt the process of fencing in honour of the decision taken by the UNC Presidential Council meeting on November 29 .
It further notified that any individuals or groups violating this notice shall be doing so at their own risk.
