Imphal, May 06 2015 :
Surrenderees from various militant outfits on Wednesday condemned the state government for failing to give basic needs and welfare benefits to them as promised earlier.
A press meet was held in this regard at Manipur Press Club.
Corporal Wahengbam Premananda of KYKL, a surrenderee, told media persons that he along with four other cadres of KYKL led by Sergent Basanta; one cadre of UNLF and one cadre of PLA had surrendered to the state government in 2013 at Moreh.
However, the state government has not taken up any welfare measures or arrangements to deliver basic needs to the surrenderees so far.
In such a situation, an organisation called 'Purlomba' for the surrenderees, to be headed by KYKL Lance Corporal Thingujam Thoiba, will be formed and will take further actions to demand welfare for the surrenderee community, announced W Premananda.
