Imphal, July 05 2023: A wreath-laying ceremony of 4 Assam Rifles Sub/GD Resham Bahadur Chhetri, who was martyred in action on July 5, 2001 was held was held on Wednesday.

According to PRO IGAR (S), Resham Bahadur Chhetri was killed in action while conducting a search operation at Tuensang (Nagaland), Chassir village when the troopers came under heavy volume of fire from unknown insurgent groups, which was immediately retaliated with fire.

He sustained gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries, thereby laying down his life as supreme sacrifice for the Nation, the PRO added.
