IDPs stage sit-in protest at Kakching

Kakching, December 02 2024: Internally displaced persons (IDPs) taking shelter in different relief camps opened across Kakching staged sit-in protest agitation at Kakching bazar on Monday demanding the state government to facilitate return to their ancestral homes.

The IDPs include those staying in relief camps opened at Kakching Indoor Stadium, Old Age Home, kha Manipur College SC/ ST Girls Hostel, Yumbi Macha High School and Kalyan Ashram.

The protestors held placards reading "We do not want to stay in fabricated houses", "Arrange our stay in respective homes", "It's time to unite", etc.
