Dimapur, September 01 2014: Troops of 31 Assam Rifles once again recovered illicit liquor being smuggled into Mokokchung, Nagaland two days ago.

According to the IGAR-North based in Kohima, a total of over thousand bottles of assorted IMFL costing over Rupees two and half lakh were seized while checking a vehicle which did not bear any registration number.

The vehicle carrying liquor was stopped at check post Dessoi and one person named Biren Kardong, 21 years, a resident of Mising Gaon Sonowal, Mariani, Assam was detained alongwith the vehicle and liquor.

The individual and liquor were handed over to Longtho Police Station.

The seizure of IMFL by AR was widely lauded by the public in Longtho, the IGAR(North) stated.

Meanwhile, in yet another significant operation 33 Assam Rifles recovered ammunition and warlike stores from Namsa in Mon district of Nagaland on Saturday last.
