Tamenglong,, August 31 2015: The Longmai (Noney) Area Village Authority Council (LAVAC) on Monday elected its new batch of office bearers during a general meeting held at Longmai village.

The meeting which was convened by Meiduan Gangmei, chairman of Longmai Village Authority and co-convened by R Chamei, chairman of Rangkhung Village Authority unanimously elected 23 new executive members of LAVAC for the tenure 2015-17 .

The general meeting has further renamed the council's title from Longmai (Noney) Area Village Authority Council (LAVAC) to Longmai Area Village Council (LAVC) .

A committee to draft rules and regulations and an advisory board were also constituted during the meeting.
