Imphal, January 31 2022: Special Judge POCSO Fast Track Court, Manipur-I on Monday sentenced Longjam Pinky (34), who was convicted of raping a minor girl, to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment.

During the sentence hearing held on Monday, the Court after listening submissions of both the prosecution and the defense, sentenced convict Longjam Pinky to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment and ordered him to pay a fine of Rs 35,000.If he fails to the fine, he would have to stay in jail for an additional 3 months.

It may be mentioned here that the Court convicted Longjam Pinky of the crime on January 28 and fixed the sentence hearing on January 29.However, as the hearing could not be completed on that day, the Court reserved the judgment, which was pronounced on Monday.
