Chandel, December 28 2019: Joupi Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) extended assistance to one Thongminthang Khongsai, a resident of Joupi village, who requested for assistance to conduct last rites of his wife, Late Martha Hoijaneng Khongsai today.

A headstone of Late Martha Hoijaneng Khongsai was unveiled during the ceremony at Joupi village, said a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 300 villagers from all nearby villages.

Officials from the Joupi Battalion attended the ceremony and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family of Thongminthang Khongsai.

Joupi Battalion provided all assistance to the village for a smooth conduct of the event.

Chief of Joupi village thanked Assam Rifles for this gesture.

The genuine efforts of Assam Rifles in helping needy people was highly appreciated by the locals of Joupi.
