Jiribam agitation suspended

Jiribam, July 22 2014:
AMSU District Committee, Jiribam; MSF special branch; DESAM Local Council and KSA Jiribam Unit, have suspended their protest which demanded the allottment of required local primary school and Higher Secondary School teachers from the midnight of July 22 .
The decision to suspend the protest came after the student bodies met Dr Harmit Singh Pahuja, ADC, Jiribam.
Dr Harmit Singh reportedly urged the student bodies to suspend their protests stating that most of the demands were fulfilled by the State Government.
The Government had already notified to take 8 lecturers for Jiribam Government Higher Secondary School and 140 teachers for both Lower Primary school and High School.
The four student bodies stated that it will resume their agitation in case normal classes do not start by September this year.
