Bishnupur , June 22 2020: Volunteers of Wildlife Explorer Manipur and staff of Divisional Forest Office, Bishnupur released one keeled box turtle at a hill area under the jurisdiction of Bishnupur Range, today.

The turtle was rescued by one Hamom Arbin, S/o H Rajen Singh of Bishnupur Ward no 5 .

This endangered species (keeled box turtle) is protected under the Indian Wildlife Protection Act.

It is also included in the red list of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) .
