Imphal, January 22 2022:
Troops of Tengnoupal Battalion of IGAR (South) recovered betel nuts, liquor, cigarettes and footwear items worth Rs 5.29 lakh from near Kwatha village in Tengnoupal district on Saturday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that during a border domination patrol, troops of Assam Rifles uncovered a large number of packages concealed in thick foliage in the forest.
On thorough search of the packages, illegal goods including betel nuts, liquor, cigarettes and footwear items were recovered.
The recovered contraband items have been handed over to Customs Department, Moreh.
