Ukhrul, December 19 2017: The Tangkhul Wungnao long (Headmen Association) and the All Hunphun Tangs Association (AHTA) have appealed all the District Level Officers to attend their respective offices regularly and to remain stationed at the district headquarters during the festive season of Christmas, considering any emergencies at the office .

According to a statement of AHTA Chairman Chonmi Raleng, the unavailability of Deputy Commissioner, SDOs in the offices has caused inconveniences to the public .

It has delayed the withdrawal of MGNREGS funds for the poor daily wage earners besides delivering other Govt schemes to the beneficiaries of the district .

During the holidays, students who study outside the State return to celebrate but also to obtain documents, photo capturing for Aadhar etc, it stated .

Regarding the frequent blackouts in the town for the last many days, the locals have urged the authority concerned to look into the matter and supply regular electricity, especially during the Christmas season.
