Tengnoupal, April 18 2020: Troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) along with Manipur police apprehended one cadre of PREPAK near Molphei village in Tengnoupal district on April 15, said IGAR (S) in a statement, today.

Based on specific input, the joint team launched an operation and apprehended the cadre from the aforementioned area, it said adding that the apprehended cadre has been identified as self-styled sergeant Chingangbam Bijenta Singh alias Malem.

The troops also recovered one AK -56 Rifle along with a magazine and live ammunition from the individual.

The apprehended individual along with the recovered items have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for investigations, added the statement.
