Imphal, August 16 2014 : The Tamenglong District Land Ownership action Committee (LOAC) submitted a memorandum to the Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari requesting him to handover the responsibility of NH-37 construction to BRO.

Mention may be made that, the State PWD is to take over the construction works of NH-37 with effect from September 2014 .

The LOAC, in support of the BRO, urged the Government to reconsider its decision of shifting work agency from BRO to PWD for the larger interest of the Tamenglong District public.

The committee further warned that they would impose an indefinite chakka bandh wef August 20 in case the Government fails to respond positively.
