Nurse on mass testing duty collapses

Thoubal, June 12 2021: An ANM nurse on duty lost consciousness during mass testing for Covid-19 conducted at Thoubal Wangmataba Sorok Makha in Thoubal district on Saturday.

The nurse was detailed on duty for the mass testing drive held at the local community hall.

She has been identified as Samina Begum of Lilong Haoreibi.

Reports from the local task force volunteers said that the nurse might have passed out due to excessive heat and long hours of wearing PPE suits.

She fainted while seated on a chair.

Doctors and other nurses present at the site gave her first aid and she was allowed to leave for home after she regained consciousness.

Six positive cases were detected during the mass testing wherein samples of 62 individuals of the locality were examined.
