A 16-day National Integration Tour organised by the Red Shield Division was flagged off by Brig Anil Hooda, Deputy General Officer Commanding, Red Shield Division from Leimakhong on March 9 as part of operation sadbhavana project.
According to a statement issued by the PRO (Defence) Imphal, the tour is planned keeping in mind the idea of National Integration which will assist students in comprehending the vast diversity, traditions and vibrant customs of the country.
The tour to Pune and Mumbai would also include visits to historical and cultural places to broaden the horizon of the students.
Interactions planned with important institutions and distinguished personalities will not only motivate the young minds but will also help the students to draw inspirations from them.
The team comprising of 25 students and two teachers from Gandhi Memorial Government Higher School, Molnom, Churachandpur district will visit important historic and cultural places in Pune and Mumbai and will also include a tour to the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Pune, it added.
Meanwhile, Red Shield Division constructed a ladies' toilet block under Military Civic Action programme at Glory Lane village of Tamenglong district on Mar 10, the PRO statement added.
