ZSU decries delaying legal procedure

The Zeliangrong Students' Union Manipur has decried the police for delaying legal procedure in connection with the FIR filed against Hingba Mathew, warden of Josephine Girls' hostel Maram who is charged as main accused in the alleged murder attempt of Ringsanbou Newmai, a BA 5th semester in History students of Don Bosco College, Maram.
According to a press release, it is conveyed that the police has taken up no action against the alleged culprit as per the law of the land and added that it is disgraceful for the police department.
ZSU demanded the law enforcing police department to apologise to the public for its inability to fulfill its obligation.
In this matter, ZFY, AZSU and ZSUM set 48 hours dateline with effect from August 12 midnight to law enforcing agency to arrest the alleged culprit.
In case of failure to arrest Hingba Mathew within the stipulated time, a 24 hours bandh on NHs will be called and the date will be later announced after the expiry of the dateline, it conveyed.
