Joint drive recover bird nets from Ikop Pat

Kakching, November 09 2024: In a joint drive, People For Nature, Thoubal district and Thoubal Forest Division recovered several bird nets from Ikop Pat near Tentha village on Friday.

According to a release of People For Nature, the drive was conducted after receiving reports of bird nets being used in Ikop Pat and other small water bodies for poaching migratory birds.

People For Nature, Thoubal appealed to the public to welcome the migratory birds that have arrived in the state with the onset of winter season, instead of poaching them, while at the same time cautioning of legal action in case of violating the law.
