Protest demands removal of Assam Rifles

Imphal, August 08 2023: Local Meira Paibi Lup of Phaknung Mayai Leikai organised a sit-in protest demanding removal of Assam Rifles, implementation of NRC and restoration of peace on Monday.

Protestors shouted slogans denouncing partiality of Assam Rifles and demanding removal of the force from the state.

They also demanded implementation of NRC to detect and deport illegal immigrants while pressing the government to take up immediate measures to restore peace and normalcy in the state.

They also decried the silence of the Centre and state government over the biased attitude of Assam Rifles.
