Imphal, October 07 2015: A new body known as Manipur Hills Forum Parliamentarian Conference was formed during a meeting at the residence of Morung Makunga at Mantripukhri on Sept 18 .

Former Minister V Hangkhanlian has been elected as the president of the new body.

The Conference was formed to look after the welfare of former MPs and MLAs and advise on issues confronting the tribals from time to time.

Former MLAs Morung Makunga and M Thohrii were elected as the vice-presidents while former MLA Doukhomang Khongsai has been elected as the general secretary.

Veteran politicians like former CM Rishang Keishing, former Ministers C Doungel, Selkai Hrangchal and BD Behring are the advisers of the Conference.
