A mega fashion extravaganza titled 'Malla Malla Leinungsi', a show which would attempt to showcase the antique customs, cultures and traditions of Manipur, would be held on September 5 at 4pm in Imphal Hotel.
The announcement was made by the Project Director, Chanam Dilip in a press conference held at IMPACT TV, Keishampat.
This year's Mega Fashion Extravaganza, he said, is solely organised for married women.
The mega fashion will be participated by 16 married women.
In four rounds, the participants are to showcase traditional attires of the State.
Meanwhile, the All Manipur Nupi Manbi Association (third gender) secretary Santa Khurai, in a press conference held at Imphal Press Club today has also announced an ethical fashion event for the third genders to be held at Bhagyachadra Open Air Theatre (BOAT) on October 18 this year.
Speaking to mediapersons, the association's general secretary appealed State Government for equal treatment of transgender groups in the State.
He further appealed the masses to encourage the participation of third genders in social events.
Event coordinator Oinam Kenedy further elaborated on the idea behind organising the event.
He said that the main objective of the event is to promote fashion lovers, particularly the third genders to the level of recognition.
The fashion parade would be participated by 8 designers and 50 models.
In four rounds, the fashion event will showcase four different themes.
