Thoubal, August 31 2015: Mapithel Dam Affected Villagers Organisation (MDAVO) has strongly condemned the alleged high-handedness of the IFCD Department and its attempt to construct a link road between Ramrei to Ramrei Aze despite people's objection.

MDAVO has been already constructing a road on the same route with contributions made by local people but the construction work which began from August 25 has been disrupted by continuous rainfall.

Added to this, the IFCD Department has also set up a camp meant for stationing security forces at Ramrei in order to supersede the ongoing construction of the said road.

Stating that such acts by the State Government will create an upheaval in the area, MDAVO chairman KS Dominic said the IFCD had been clearly informed that the said road would be constructed by the locals.

Therefore, the present move of the IFCD to supersede the ongoing construction work is double standard and an attempt to subjugate the affected villagers.
