Imphal, January 31 2022: Culture Preservation Centre Meitei Leipak, Manipur observed the 35th Maichou Ningsing Numit at Gandhi Memorial Hall here on Monday and presented gifts to the senior citizens.

Speaking at the programme which was marked by presentation of folk songs and religious rituals, Centre's president M Sorojini Leima opined that a society can be said to be truly developed when its denizens have good manner and respect the elders.

Noting that the present generation lacks respect for the elders, the president said the observance is being organised annually to instil good behaviour and esteem the elderly people by the younger generation.
