Women legislators for curbing crime against women

Imphal, December 31 2012: Women legislatures in the State have expressed strong desire for curbing the menace of crime against women.

Speaking to Hueiyen Lanpao, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai appealed to the people upholding the dignity of women from 2013 .

Instead of violating the rights of women, let's pay respect to their dignity, she said.

In the same vein, MLA of Kangpokpi A/C Nemcha Kipgen said that it is unfortunate that crime against women has been increasing and observed that there can be no harmony and no society can be considered fully developed if there is no respect for women.

So, in the coming year, everyone should respect women and allow them to contribute their mite, she exhorted.
