Imphal, November 29 2012: As a part of observance of the fortnight against violence on women, a campaign was carried out today at Sangai Festival under the aegis of Women Action for Development.

Apart from distributing pamphlets to the visitors, New Life Foundation secretary Pishak spoke to the visitors about crime and violence against women as well as possible preventive measures.

The international fortnight against violence on women is being observed since November 25 under the theme 'From peace in the home to peace in the world, let's challenge militarism and end violence against women' .

Pishak said that 338 girls and boys of the State have been made victims of human trafficking in the last two/three years.

People should be always wary of such false assurances, Pishak said.
