'Dancing Drummers' team returns from Delhi tour

Imphal, October 27 2015: The Rhythms of Manipur's "Dancing Drummers" team returned home yesterday after successful week long tour of the National capital.

The team featured at the prestigious 9th edition of the Delhi International Arts Festival (DIAF) 2015.The festival was being organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi in collaboration with Prasiddha Foundation and Festival of Performing Arts.

At the DIAF the "Dancing Drummers" presented a performance on October 19 at Shri Ram Centre, New Delhi before an impressive audience.

Upon the impressive performance at Shri Ram Centre, the Sangeet Natak Akademi specially invited the troupe to perform at the Festival of Akademi Fellowship holders and Awardees at Meghdoot Theatre-I on October 25 organised by the Sangeet Natak Akademi.

Dancing Drummers, comprising of seven young girls, was premiered on May 10 this year at NT Theatre, Imphal.
