AR distributes water storage tanks for rain water harvesting

Chandel, November 26 2019: Joupi Battalion of 28 Sector Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South), distributed PVC water storage tanks, for the purpose of rain water harvesting, to Hengshi and Tolbung villages, Chandel district.

The water storage tanks were handed over to the villagers in the presence of village chief and community members November 24 and 25, conveyed a press release issued by PRO, IGAR.

Based on the request from village chief, Joupi Battalion undertook the responsibility to help the locals by providing water storage tanks for rain water harvesting under Assam Rifles Civic Action Projects.

Speaking on the occasion, the village headman lauded the efforts of Assam Rifles and security forces towards uplifting the living standards of the people and addressing concerns of the people.

The local people also appreciated the gesture of Assam Rifles for reaching out to them and extending support to improve their quality of life, it added.
