Tengnoupal, November 25 2017:
A village authority member of Kwatha village,Tengnoupal district, Yaima Meetei has urged the department concerned to launch the proposed cotton plantation programme for the villagers.
Speaking to media persons, he stated that an agriculture officer, Joychandra and members of Shiv Sena visited the village and proposed the cotton plantation programme since the bamboo cultivation, which is one of the source of income for the villagers, is gradually dying.
With the main source of livelihood gradually declining, the villagers have urge the department concerned to launch the initiative at the earliest considering the grievances of the villagers.
